The company unveiled the Alpha smartwatch with a flexible display and the Red Magic 3 at the MWC earlier this year. While both are supposed to come to India, the Red Magic 3 is the one that has a date in India. Yes, Nubia has announced the tentative launch date for the Red Magic 3 in India and it could soon challenge the latest crop of Snapdragon 855-equipped gaming smartphones in India.
Nubia will launch the Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone in India sometime mid-June. There’s no definite launch date yet but expect the phone to break cover sometime before June 20. Nubia hasn’t hinted at the prices for the new gaming phone and how many variants will it bring to India. However, based on the China launch that happened in April, we can always make guesses.
The Red Magic 3 aims for the affordable gaming smartphone segment in China and Nubia expected to repeat the same for the Indian market. The Red Magic 3 starts for approximately Rs 33,000 in China for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage while the other variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage retails for almost Rs 36,000. Looking at the trends in the gaming phne segment in India lately, Nubia could bring the 8GB RAM variant in India for around Rs 36,000. At this price, it could challenge the OnePlus 7 and other new Snapdragon 855-equipped smartphones.
To further enhance the gameplay experience, the Red Magic 3 gets a 6.65-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone features haptic feedback customised for certain popular games. Also, to aid gamers, the Red Magic retains the two customizable capacitive shoulder buttons. A dual speaker setup and a 3.5mm audio jack take care of all the audio requirements.
